Booked to ride here in the summer as part of a friends MTB trip to Wales. I'm mid-red grade at BPW at a push and the thought of a gap jump or table top terrifies me. So am I asking for trouble at Dyfi? Is there even anything there for me or should I sit this one out?

It will be fine. We all felt exactly like you - especially as you pull into the car park and it’s full of race trucks. But no, the trials are graded properly and progressively (there’s always a roll it option), the uplift is perfect, the other riders are the most chilled out bunch I’ve ever known. It’s just lush. Enjoy it!

^what he said (cos I was with him!). There are a lot of tabletops; some with seriously steep takeoffs but they are all squashable and there are no mandatory gaps to clear (on the easier trails - it doesn’t sound like the Oakley line is going to tempt you).
The only thing that would improve the riding for me is chicken lines around the bigger jumps so I could keep more speed rather than having to slow down to avoid being launched into space.
But it’s ace…there should be a smattering of ex-world champs hanging around too.

There have been one or two threads on this subject in the past month or two. Worth looking for them. Consensus seems to be that it's fine. I'd written off the idea of going pretty quickly, but now it's on my hitlist.

Super Swooper and Turns in the Ferns should be fine.
Race Track has one drop as you enter the trees and a couple of techy bits near the end which are easily avoided but is otherwise a great track that's accessible for everyone.
50 Hits probably isn't what you're looking for but worth one run down - it's 50 Table tops. Some you'll be able to do.

Enjoy.

I’m off at the end of the week.

I am a wheels on the ground guy.

I am only going because of the positivity of the ‘Dyfi Will I Die?’ threads.

I will report back hopefully through a message I typed myself 🤪

Thanks guys and have checked out the other threads. Think I'll go. Best buy a full face helmet and some knee pads!

I went today and didn’t die. Eight runs, mixture or red, black and double black. I get a bit lairy on the last run (50 Hits).

It was ace.
