What's the best bang for my buck if I have a morning or afternoon riding Dunkeld? Would prefer red-ish stuff rather than silly steep techy blacks as I'll be riding solo.

Rake and ruin and pink Floyd are worth a go. Nice climb and view . Few shorter ones at the bottom as well.

They are on Birnam Hill.
Yep, do rake and ruin then the shorter tracks you can see on trailforks
Not that fussed on pink Floyd myself
The other hills are a bit more techy and or harder to navigate
Rake and Ruin is a good trail, the overgrown ferns made it hard to see where you were going when I last rode it in August a couple of years ago
Another vote for R and R to start with.
Then some of the lower trails that are all grouped together.
Pink Floyd can get in the sea as far as I'm concerned.
Not even worth the climb on an eeber.
Only ridden their once but stuck to Birnam hill. Pink Floyd was a bit meh. It was very wet so the climb and a chunk of the top DH was cycling through a stream. Maybe better after dry spell.
Electric beaver, Dans trail etc lower down I really enjoyed albeit theyre short.
Pink Floyd is an awesome trail
rake n ruin too
kinky Frenchman and electric beaver are great and there’s a new one added at end of electric beaver
Birnam Hill it is then. Thanks everyone.
I much prefer rake and ruin, much more variety, to pink Floyd and it's a fair old pedal to the top of the hill unless you've got an ebike. The start of randr is pretty steep but it's fine after the initial run in and there's a less steep wider option. The area where electric beaver is is easy to session until you run out of time.
Pink Floyd is an awesome trail
Agreed. Think this is the first time I’ve seen negative comments about it
Park here and work my way up on the fire roads?

I'd do Hermitage hill or drive up to pitlochry

I’d park at the train station
Pink Floyd is an awesome trail
I'll join in with the naysayers, I think it's average at best and not really worth the massive slog to get there, a real let down.
Park at train station for sure
pink floyd used to be awesome and one of my favourites but in the past 2-3 years or so has been a let down, past its best and needs a lot of work
I’d do Hermitage hill or drive up to pitlochry
Hermitage hill arguably has the best trails, but they're a bit more technical than I think OP wants.
Have you ridden Pitlochry in the wet? Comically difficult.
Happy enough with tech, just not when riding solo and 'blind' while on holiday. My mental RA says err on the side of caution.
mashr
I’d park at the train station
Thanks. Guessing the best ways up are pink for R&R and orange for Pink Floyd?
Sorry for all the questions, but limited time to ride and don't want to go wrong!

Orange for both (admittedly never tried your pink route, but never heard of any other way being better). You'll go through a gate at the top of PF, at that point you turn right and keep heading up to RnR. Worth noting that it's not a pleasant climb (to either)
