I'm trying to think of somewhere to ride tomorrow and was wondering what the impact of the storm has been in Dunkeld & Pitlochry. I know that the FLS statement is to stay out of forests in the south and east of Scotland for the time being. Assuming the trails are ok, I wouldn't have thought that Dunkeld counts as east but don't want to be a dick.

I suspect it won't be pretty.

I would message the shop - https://www.progressionbikesscotland.com/

"We strongly advise that visitors stay away from all forests for now."
It's all forests in Scotland at the moment- I was considering Ben Ledi but as the approach is FLS land I'm looking elsewhere...

Thanks for that. I hadn't seen the advice to stay away from all forests and will happily oblige. From their social media posts I understand that Comrie Croft is doing ok so might well end up there.

Yup, Croft is almost all open- I suspect it might be a tad busy though!
Just been looking at Atholl Estate twitter and they are ok with "cautious" access, so Atholl Hill at Dunkeld etc are fair game. That sounds good to me and opens up Glen Tilt as an option!

I was also thinking that Croft might be a little busy! An early start might be called for. Could be an opportunity to ride Athol Hill properly rather than heading there when already knackered from the stuff around the Hermitage.

Trail closures here

Useful link, just announced by DMBINS. Not a pretty picture though

A timely thread: I'm just off the phone with the bike shop in Aberfoyle and they report that most of the trails are affected to some degree or other.

Comrie it is for Sunday! See you all there.
