Got a friend heading to Dunked tomorrow and bringing the bike who's asked if there are any easier trails than the ones people typically associate with place?

Thinking more flow, less steep options? Looking at Trailforks almost everything is graded back/red so kinda hard to tell from that and I've not been there enough to know whats what....

Any reccomendations?

Does it have to be Dunkeld? Perth (Kinnoull Hill and Deuchny Woods) might be more suited.

I’m struggling to think of trails (ignoring the loop mentioned above) are the 4 main hills that would give a good day out if not wanting steeper stuff

There’s a few mellower long trails, it’s hard to qualify that though! There’s a trail coming off the off road link to Aberfeldy that’s quite fun it’s at 4.45min in this video

In all honesty, Pink Floyd, Caves Pass, Loch Ordie and the aforementioned track are all pretty chilled numbers but don’t expect groomed trails and it’ll still involve a bit of legwork. Other option would be to head along to Aberfeldy and ride the trail at the Birks (which is lovely) and the stuff in Weem woods. It would be hard to make a super long day out of it though!

What zigzag said.
The first time we went two years ago we followed the Enduro route which is available on Trailforks. The Hermitage section (I think DH Lower?) followed by a ride out back to Birnam Hill and Pink Floyd and Rake and Ruin are more than achievable and nothing too scary. And that was in the wet. So I'd go with this for starters.
Newtyle Hill(?) with The Mast and The Rudder were significantly more challenging.
Although the following year these didn't feel too bad and Crows Nest felt that little bit more scary along with loads of trickier stuff in the Hermitage (Bambi Farts, 9.8, etc).
Again, all of these sections are often used in races and events in the area. Worst case scenario, you get off and walk a section.
Great place to ride. A nice variety of challenging trails.

Loch Ordie is the traditional easy route from Dunkeld. It's completely the opposite end of the spectrum though- it's a pleasant ride in the hills.

The route around Glen Garr is pretty nice too, and you can add some of the rowdier trails in Birnam Wood at the end to spice things up.

So where did you go, or are you still trying to retrieve your mate from a hillside somewhere?

AFAIK she went up and did Rake N Ruin and Pink Floyd! Apologies to all who were looking for a biscuit themed thread....
