Just setting up the suspension on my new Anthem X with 100mm fox fork and RP2 rear.
The first dumb question is how do you know when you have reached the full travel of the suspension? When you look at the stanchion, should the rubber o-ring be touching the top of the stanchion, or does the forks full travel end before the top of the stanchion?
Currently the o-ring is getting to about 2 cm from the top of the stanchion, but the sag is about 25% when I'm sat on the bike, so I don’t really want to let more air out of the fork, or do I just need to increase the rebound setting if I reduce the amount of air?
On the rear shock the o-ring is getting within about 5mm of popping off the end of the shock, so I assume I am using more of the full stroke, but again not sure if it should go slightly further.
I have not felt either suspension 'bottom out' but so far I have only done shortish rides. When its optimally set up, should the suspension bottom out maybe once or twice a ride?

I rarely bottom out my forks but bottom out my rear 1-2 times per ride if I'm trail riding.
If the ride is not technical or rocky I won't bottom out at all. I wouldn't get hung up on that sentence.

If you want to check the fork travel just take a ruler to them. Measure the distance from the top of the seals when the bike is unweighted, to the higth of the o-ring. I find there's usually a bit of a gap between full travel and the top of the stantion.
Same for the rear if you think you're not getting full travel. Find out what the stroke length is and measure how far along the o-ring has moved.
