Dumb question of the week.
I’ve just got myself some a pair of new DMR V8 Magnesium Pedals. Now, these are my first flat pedals, are they surpose to not spin freely? It’s difficult to describe but they feel like they have a ribbed bearing!? I’m assuming this so the pedal doesn’t spin at a fast rate (out of control)preventing you from finding the flat part of the pedal again?

Any thoughts

Cheers

They are fresh and brand new out of the packet 20 minutes ago. Should new DMR flattys pedal require greasing?

"ribbed" doesn't sound right at all - in these circumstances anyway!

Take back and at least twiddle another set to feel for a difference (& then swap for some v12s too)

Ribbed would suggest the bearings have been too much of an interference fit in the bore, meaning the balls are squashed and have nowhere else to go, so they put little indents in the race. Gubbed.

You'll hear it often referred to as 'notchy'.

V8s are still cup n cone aren't they? So thats been over-tightened and is probably already shagged.

Take em back and buy some Superstar Nanos instead

My bad, thought they were sealed cartridges, legend sounds right though.
