Anyone else heading to ABerfoyle for this tomorrow?
Interested to ride some new trails on the gravel bike. Get to 'race' against Graeme Obree too.
You probably all should have come along. It was really good.
I was there, but sadly working on DofE stuff, so not taking part in the festivities. Looked good from the bits I cycled past on my travels.
I was in Aberfoyle all weekend. Planning to ride, but out for health reasons.
The crowd on the Dukes Pass for the hill climb yesterday was great, with chalk artwork all over the road, a bar & cake stand and Geoff Waugh trackside on the drum kit.
The Dukes Gathering last night was brilliant. I think the vast majority left with newfound respect for all the speakers, on their vastly different subjects. From Andy McKenna, who is such an inspiration for the way he has handled him MS diagnosis, to Graeme Obree, who will have been a childhood cycling hero for so many of those present.
Today was the gravel enduro. I was marshalling on the 2nd stage. Everyone I spoke to loved the riding, even if the headwind on the first climb this afternoon made it, possibly slightly more taxing than intended.
From what I saw, the whole weekend was a great success. I hope Stu, Rob, Frazer and the rest of the crew can make it happen again next year, and I really hope I'm bike fit to take part.
