Pedalnorth route Duddon valley - Seathwaite

https://pedalnorth.com/duddon-valley/

Is this the Boss of routes around that area or can it be improved?

Want to do something with my lad on Sat and this looks good. 3K ft climbing is around his limit so not looking to add much on, more to ask if there are better tracks to go at around the loop.

It's not bad, two very good descents in it - to Seathwaite and after Walna Scar down the side of the river Lickle.

I'd be tempted to not bother with the bit around Broughton Mills, go direct over from Stephenson Ground to the Seathwaite descent, and try to squeeze in the Grassguards to Wallowbarrow descent as well over the other side.

The BW. The other side of the river is a forestry track.

Lovely round there. I lived at Dry Hall at Broughton Mills in the late 60,s. The Blacksmiths Arms was like walking into Fred Tysons sitting room!

If your lads young or not that confident you can ride past the stone star descent and go north for a bit and meet the next descent to the duddon it’s a bit longer, less exposed but still fast and fun with some techy little steps and beck crossings just without the chance of falling off a cliff.
anothe good un is do the climb up to kiln bank cross and there’s a descent back to duddon bridge, (on the right after the top cattle grid but just before the top itself) it’s pretty poorly defined so you’ll be winging it nav wise but if yo keep the open fell boundary wall to your right and are heading downhill you’ll get there, it’s a hoot, then repeat the kiln bank cross climb to continue
As above I’d sack off the Broughton mills section and park at either kiln bank cross or Broughton moor forest
theres also some cracking bits and bobs in the forest top of there’s anything left in the legs

I've done  the majority of this one and it was a nice day out and held up when the weather was a bit on the damp side with snow on the tops.
