So in 2011 I did my first ever mountain bike race (gisburn dirty dozen 12 hour endurance race).

In 2012 I ran my first ever marathon (Preston marathon in October).

Now I would quite like to combine both on 2013 for a mountain bike duathlons. So which ones are available in the north of England/ north Wales or Scotland?

Think I could do with a couple of months to get I shape so match/April would be best.

Anyone know of anything around that time? Have seen whinlatter but that's not until November. At the moment grizedale seems to be the only one fitting the bill.

Thanks!

How about this?

Previously known as the Glentress Duathlon. Bit earlier than you were planning but relatively short and fun event.

Coed y Brenin duathlon is great fun.
Sadly only managed it once, fell on the 1st run, so only finished 10th. Had to work every other time since!
Greta fun event.

MUD RUNNER

Proper takes it out of you.... 10k of XC RUN then the 20k Bike followed by a cheeky 3k run (up and through a river) It doesnt sound Much but believe me ICE COLD waist deep water / mud is a energy sapper!!

Just looked at the Mud Runner - looks good but £40 to enter!!! 😯

I did some @ Haldon forest a few years ago and I'm sure it was well under £20 to enter. Saunders mountain marathon is just over £40 for 2 days!

Mud Runner is WELL worth it tho.... don't bother if your very protective about your bike! it will get VERY dirty.
