Hi,

Does anyone understand which dt240's are convertable to which axle standard. I am looking to get a set but need them to be 15QR front and 142 rear. The rear conversion looks to be pretty simple but I am struggling to figure out which front hub I need.

Any ideas?

I think both the standard QR hub and oversize 20mm hub are convertible to 15mm.

EDIT: I recently ordered a 15mm 240s hub from bike-discount.de

I was told only the 20mm oversize was convertible to 15mm, with the adapters bought separately.

The wheel I bought from actionbikes was stiff and notchy like having the bakes on slightly - you could get the wheel spinning by twisting the axle ends, quite a lot of torque could be put through before the bearings started to spin.

Actionbikes gave me the "they're all like that, sir" and asked me to contact DT UK service centre (Pace cycles) who asked me to send it to them, which I did (£17). They were very helpful, said the axle ends were slightly overtightened, pressurising the bearings. Once backed off a touch, they were fine.

Could have done that myself if I'd known what the issue was, but the bearings felt knackered to me, as though the races had been indented.

Got it back now, and it's spinning fine.

Still don't know how someone at actionbikes could have built the wheel signed the tag on the wheel and sent it out without noticing the stiffness and notchiness.
