Can non boost XM1501 wheels be converted to 110mm and 148mm boost?
I have been on the DT Swiss website and am still unclear as to whether this can or can't be done
Depends on the year. If they are the lasted spline 30’s then you can get a rear wolf tooth kit to fit but the front is a different end cap size (by 2mm smaller if memory serves me) and non of the supplier make a kit to fit. You can use those horrible spacers from eBay but I hated those in the end I bought the same wheelset in boost!! I have the rear conversion kit somewhere.
If they are the older version then yes they can both be converted. I literally tried everything to the point I was going to get the older kit turned down by an engineering company but lost the plot with it
These are what i'm looking to convert DT Swiss XM 1501 Spline ONE 25, if thta helps.
You got the link to the exact model? It’s the front end cap flange that’s the problem. I suspect you have the newer model, but without a link/pic I can really help
Your biggest hurdle is the center lock mount on the later gen wheels.
There is a company doing a larger splined cl adapter and end cap kit.
Now8 is the company for the cl boost adapter
Mine were not centre lock and the latest spec, so likely OEM. But they are out there!
I have some XM1501 spline 30mm. The 6 bolt hubs are easier to to as you dont have to worry about spacing the centre lock mounts out. NOW8 make a kit for the rear wheel (generic) and you will have to put up with annoying spacers.
The trouble with the Spline hubs is they are not a 'stock' 240S hub, the end caps are slightly smaller externally. You can bodge the wolf tooth adapter to fit with a file but not ideal.
I got some end caps made up at work, basically gave the original caps & spec'd up the extra 10mm on the DS front cap, same as the wolf tooth adapter but in the right size, so I dont need to use a disk rotor spacer and identical rear spacers, just an extra 3mm on each side. I have to use a rotor spacer on this, but they are a solid press fit & all work fine. I cant tell the difference between these and my other XM wheeler which is boost.
Appreciate not everyone has the work facilities I do though, they would be a pain if I didn't have the ability to make up the end caps.

When you say 'smaller externally', what do you mean?
The only reason I ask is that I'm in the process of doing exactly this to my XM1501 spline 25mm (rear). I have this kit:
Popped the old end cap out this morning, pressed in the new one, seems fine, sits flush, is the right length in comparison with the old one.
EDIT: Were you just talking about the front? That is a weird size, had enough trouble converting from 20mm to 15mm.
The annoying spacer option would not be to much of a problem as i very rarely remove the wheels.Do the spacer kits work with XD hubs?

Yeah just the front on the newer wheels, they have a slightly smaller diameter of flange with the end cap and no one makes a kit. It’s only like 2mm smaller and the exact same size but it is smaller
