The freehub (XD Driver) on my DT Swiss Hybrid 1700 wheelset needs new bearings, I'm fairly sure it has 350 internals. The bearings are unmarked, DT swiss don't provide the sizes and the interweb provides conflicting advice (6902 and/or 6802). Any help would be appreciated!

Im surprised the bearings are unmarked

Every DT Swiss hub/free hub ive stripped down have the bearing code (6802RS for example) on the bearing's rubber seal

Two options you can try

1 remove the bearings and take them to your local bearing supplier and they will match them up

2 Remove the bearings, pick out the seals, flush the bearings out/through with isopro alcohol , after that if they spin freelyand no obvious signs of corrosion then repack with grease and refit, done that to many a bearing which has gone on for more years of use

They are unmarked! Re-greasing won't help, there is about 2-3mm of play in the bearings, they're shot!

6802 for star ratchet xd driver.
The 6902 confusion might be hub shell related as the spline rear wheels use a different bearing to regular 240/350 hubs
edit - 6902 is in some of my shimano 8/9/10 drivers but 11road and SL shimano 11 have 6902.
I also have an XD with unmarked bearings.. just a bunch of lines in the seal. I'm sure there will be numbers on the other face though if removed.

There is normally a QR/numerical code on the rim somewhere - putting this into the DT swiss website gives spoke sizes and I am reasonably sure bearing sizes.

Failing that, you can pop them out and measure them.

Otherwise I am pretty sure they are 6802's, you need 2 and some fairly small circlip pliers.

DT's website only lists the hub shell bearing size not the freehub bearing size when i looked last week

Best bet is to pop them out and take them to a bearing supplier

Think i have a spare 240's XD free hub, ill go check the bearings

Can confirm the following

A 240's XD freehub uses 6802RS bearings

A 240's 11 speed Shimano freehub uses 6802RS bearings

Not sure on a 240's Shimano 12 speed spline free hub bearing size as i couldnt be arsed to remove the wheel from the bike

As DT make the freehub's under licence i cant see them making 3 different freehubs using different bearing sizes for 350/240 hubs

The 6902RS bearings are for the actual hubs

as above, I have a shimano 8/9/10 off a 350 hub (custom for giant) with 6902 bearings
But yep, there's not the space in an XD driver body for that bigger bearing.
