I have a couple of ratchety XD driver freehubs that I bought on cheap wheelsets a while back but I'm probably never going to use and would like to swap 'em for shimano-fit. 2-3 years old but literally never used, not even had a cassette mounted

I suppose I could sell them and buy replacements but wondered if a swapsie arrangement might exist with DT dealers. Anyone know if that's remotely a goer, before I start ringing around?

Not sure about an official 'swap programme' but with quite a few of DT's higher end wheel coming with both Shimano and SRAM XD ones in the box there will probably be plenty of people with spare Shimano freehubs.

And by extension of that logic people with spare XD Drivers too.

Id be surprised if a dealer wanted to entertain a swap, but you could ask, won’t hurt. I definitely wouldn’t expect it to work remotely - think you’d need to go in waving your existing freehub to show it’s not worn.

I may have one or two unused ratchet type DT Shimano fit freehubs that I would be interested in swapping for XD if such a swap was available. At work for the next couple of days and only really online when drinking coffee but if interested and you can hang fire til later in the week feel free to drop me a PM...

Ah, evening all - esp vincienup

If yours are 10 or 11sp shimano fit (and if I can find my wheels!), I'm interested
Are all XD drivers the same "fitment" in terms of cassette spec? - as I said, mine are a year or three old I think

I'm in no rush - had 'em ages already, just bored over the holidays and so planning ahead

I'll PM you once I find them in the back of the garage

I have a box-fresh 11 speed Shimano MTB DT ratchet freehub that I'd love to swap for a ratchet XD.

As well as a clearing house for freehubs wouldn't it be great if people could swap in end caps too?!

Let me know if your swap with vincienup doesn't work out.

I'd swap one. And yes they are all the same if they are the ratchet freehub.

Do you need to swap the drive side end cap as well? Iirc it's different for XD.

there are two different 12mm xd end caps also.. so if your freehubs are a few years old, they may be 135mm so wouldn't work for 142/boost frames.
the end caps as a kit on their own are probably 30quid.

135mm end cap is 12.5mm,
142/148/157/177/197 end cap is 16mm
both are laser etched 'XD compatible'

I've many bags of both "rotor kits" from wheelsets and they all come with the DS end cap to swap to your drive train standard.
