Would you consider buying current dt swiss forks (xmm 140 in mind)
I dont buy magazines anymore so havent read any reviews
Had bad experiences with old pace forks (servicing & reliability)
Has the level of service and quality gone up now they are dt swiss

Basically would you buy over fox & Rock shox

Thanks in advance

Nope. Spend half the amount on some Revs. Spend the other half on a holiday.

What markd said. Can't see any point other than to be different, and there isn't always a lot of point in that.

Hi

I have a set of the XRC100 world cup forks. Full carbon, much lighter than anything else and they work well too... But not all the time. They tend to work for a few races then need a service. Plus, the bushings have been v loose from new. Our team has had a lot of issues with them to be honest, but it's worth it as they are so light - had we just dropped the best part of £1k on each fork though I'd be a bit cross....

Yes, have the EXM150's since they came out, best forks i've ever owned, much better than the crap fox that came with my HT

I had many sets of Pace over the years without one fault. Point is all brands have problems sometimes, luck has something to do with it, although of course statistically some brands will be more reliable than others. Perhaps its the job of the cycling press to reveal brand reliability for us, but to me I think this is an area were I'm suspicious they let punters down. But I digress........

I have a set of (discontinued) XMC130 QR15's bought for less than half price. They are blinkin' amazing. Buy at the right time I guess, and you'll get a bargain, and if you have a few ££ I'd recommend DT Swiss discounted or not.

I have use other forks and found them wanting in comparision to Pace/DT Swiss over the years. On average 😀

Got a set of XC100s that have never given me any issues in 2 years of ownership. VERY light too.

Set of xcm-130s here and I love them. Service once a year without any seal/wear issues and excellent performance for a light weight fork.

knocks spots off the Revs which they replaced, faster, smoother, lighter, stiffer, better quality fork all round.

My old Revs were a horror story, endless problems with the rebound adjustment, back to the manufacturers three times in two years. Two sets of Rebas however have been fine. We'll see how the EXMs perform over time but right now they are pishing over the Revs.

I had some pace forks (pre the dt Swiss buyout) and when they worked they were great forks but they did go wrong a lot. As my lbs couldn't service pace forks they had to get sent back up to pace every time, which was annoying. I have no idea if they're more reliable now but I personally would go for something that can be serviced by my lbs. Plus they're pretty expensive these days, I think?

I would if I won the lottery. I've had excellent results from Pace forks over the years and few mechanicals - none on my 130mms that I still have in the garage actually.

Way too expensive now though.

had xmc 130s and revs, anyone who says theres a night and day difference is talking tosh... i actually preferred the damping on revs over fast small bumps if set up properly, the dts are nice though, i paid 400 in a sale but i prefer revs for ease of servicing and simplicity, are they good...yeah....do they justify the cost..i dont think so..

I think the ones that were sold off cheap were the last of the re-badged Paces. The newer DT ones (with the white legs maybe?) are different inside and could well be better.

Yes. Have run the XMC130 for 18 months (paid £400, ex-display) and just bought the XMM140 for a new project (paid £490 from Germany). No issues with either so far...which is more than I can say for the Pace/Fox/Manitou forks used previously. Having said that, I wouldn't pay top whack for them.

I've been running XMM 140 for a month. They have been brilliant, my favourite forks ever UNTIL they made a stange clicking noise and stopped working at the weekend. I've only put about 500 miles dry riding into them so to say I'm disappointed is an extreme understatement. The lockout has failed and they have become wallowy.

I'm sending them back today, so we'll have to see what happens.

I got mine from Lex's by the way. Doing them for a very reasonable £449 posted.
