How long until we get some DT branded brakes or a reduced waiting list on Trickstuff parts? Companies will be kept seperate, for now......

Per my rant on pinkbike, I hope they either go full channel distribution, or separate individuals from the resellers in the queue in buying direct.

I’ve had an order in with them direct since March 2020, the second delay meant I should have received them this week. Got an email a month ago saying I was next in line for assembly. Shipping date? End of Feb 22.

In the mean time I’ve heard people complaining that the had to wait a month after ordering from a reseller. I get the reseller probably/possibly ordered speculatively before me, but still, annoying. I rather support manufacturers than resellers, but they don’t half make it difficult.

@tomhoward the unknowns on delivery times are the only reason I've not bought some....

Lead times have also put me off. What about aftercare or spares if you crash. Availability of spares is key.

I hope DT ramp production up! They clearly have a good product with a severe restriction on supply. Given their size and shape, DT should be able to address that. It seems a good fit as DT are an engineering led firm, so the quality should remain.

Spares have never been hard to get, the hard bit is getting the brakes in the first place.

Even a lever assembly?

Apparently so, never been an issue for me, but others have been sorted out quickly I’ve read.

I remember when I was going to order the Maxima when they became available. Since then I've changed jobs, bought a house, had a baby, survived a global pandemic etc... It feels like years ago. I've even started riding bikes again!

I'd still buy some though, when they're a little easier to get hold of.

It'll also be interesting to see if they carry on with their other, less well known products. I'm sure for now they will, but in a few years when DT have balanced the books a couple of times I'd bet that some items get ditched from the product range.

Most of these things don’t make sense, team / products get sunsetted or are just the result of MBA folk looking to milk a brand to death for some cash. This seems very logical and win win for all involved.

Co with great product that can’t ramp up.
x
Co with great ability to scale production, global distribution and oem relationships.

You’d think I’d be posting up telling folk my brakes were on their way now wouldn’t you. Nope.

‘We are currently not yet in a position to give well-founded delivery dates for brake orders.’

If this order gets any older it will be able to tell me itself when it will be delivered.

currently not yet

as opposed to previously not yet?

It would have been faster and cheaper to have bought a set of Hope’s and flown TJ down to set them up for you 🤣

I've never tried to have anything like this manufactured but how hard is it to find a decent machine shop? I get that you can't do it overnight but we're talking years now.

Someone who's handy on Fusion could have reverse engineered them by now and beat them to market.

Only if they could get a set.
