Hi, I have a 2014 Giant Anthem that has a DT Swiss QR axle, I don't really like it and am upgrading the wheels, I've been told you can get an adapter for different wheels anyone got any experience advice on this. Was hoping to get some 142mm x 15mm wheels off Superstar components.
142x15 is not a size. 142x12 is what you mean (assuming you talking about the rear). Unless your frame has obviously swappable dropouts on both sides then you are stuck with QR. If you can't tell post a picture of your frame showing both dropouts.
Likewise for the front if its 9mm QR them your stuck with this. If it's already a 15mm through axle then any other 100x15mm front wheel will fit (I'm assuming non boost at that age).
This might help:
It looks like your frame has options for different drop-outs, but it's not clear from your post what you currently have. If it's a 142x12mm bespoke - Giant only I think - DT Swiss RWS axle then you might be able to find a bolt through alternative, though your issue will be matching the pitch of the thread it screws into.
If you have a genuine QR skewer frame, you could either try and source the 12mm conversion or use a 10mm through axle with suitable hub adapters as standard rear QR drop-outs will allow that - I've got a coupele of bikes with the RWS 10mm bolt through, which works pretty well. But it depends what you actually have now.
As above, 142x15 is not a standard, you're presumably thinking 142x12. If you don't have a 12mm dropout set, it looks like you could potentially upgrade to one using Giant parts plus their own DT Swiss axle. Or that's how it looks anyway.
