SO the Kona frame for No.2 uses a 30mm seat post.
So what are my options for a dropper as it'll live in Wales.
Doubt i'll get a 30.9 in there tbh as capiers have it bang on 30mm
So is it a 27.2 and a sleeve or is there another option?

Have the frame machined to out seems to be the other option. I went for a 27.2 post and a sleeve to fit my 30mm seat tube

27.2 and a long shim that goes past the top tube junction.

Thats about an inch long then spooky....
Did I forget to mention its an XS frame? 😛

Looks like that only leaves me with Funn or Brand-X.
The Brand-X is only in stealth so that means drilling the frame.

I got the non-remote version of the KS Lev E-Ten. Not tried it in anger yet but it seems just the ticket, the lever is much easier to access than the pull pin on my non-remote gravity dropper.

Would rather she isn't taking her hands off the bars before dropping into Twrch or Cafal!!

Wait... Have you already done this?!
I'm no engineer, but I reeeeeeally don't think taking 1.4mm out of the wall thickness of a seat tube is a good idea. Ever.
Unless your bike is actually made it scaffolding poles. Surely there can't be any tube left?!
This needs pictures.

If you're dropping the saddle for Twrch or Cafal you may as well just get a shorter seatpost and leave the saddle down all the time, surely? I'll admit the carpark is a slightly easier ride, but there's not much in it! 😉

Submarined - Nope, he would be machining out from 30.0 to 30.9 then sleeving so taking off 0.45mm. Maybe that's why you aren't an engineer 🙂

Oh FFS. I need more sleep. I'm a fully grown idiot.
You are 110% correct.
I'm going back to maintaining financial systems. We're all doomed.

You don't need a dropper, you need to buy my old Race Face Diabolus seat post - It's been sat lonely in my shed since I sold my old stinky 🙂

She already has a Kona seatpost in it.
She’s more mental than I am so a dropper is needed as she just bombs straight in!
Ordered a TranzX from Bike-Discount last night in the end with a 100mm sleeve for less than the cheapest 27.2 I could find here other than the Redneck.
Picked up a cassette too as it was £30 less than anywhere else for XD so double savings.

I asked a few places about taking the seat tube dia up and they weren't interested.

Sleeve / sim and smaller post is what I've got on 2 of my bikes and will probably end up doing on a third... all of which are Konas

@submarined I researched it but never did it. it worked out to be approx 17% reduction in wall thickness.
