I’ve just got a good deal on a left hand Shimano GRX shifter with dropper post lever. It seems like the best lever option but it does need the cable end at the wrong end, ie the lever end!
The easy option would be to go for the Pro discover 27.2 dropper as they are designed to work together. I had a Pro koryak a few years ago and didn’t love it, it had a slow return from memory that did my head in! That makes me sound precious doesn’t it?
Does anyone have a Pro discover post? What’s it like?
Had anyone had any luck bodging a dropper that wants the cable end at its end with a shifter that also wants the cable end at its end?
X-fusion Manic also works on “clamp at the dropper end” cable routing.
Had mine a couple of years and it’s been fine.
Pretty sure you can buy a bolt on ferrule that will work with most posts to convert them to pro that way round too.
I’m sure my Brand X came with the little ferrule with grub screw so you could have 2 ends on the cable.
Would probably need to add an inline adjuster.
Got a koryak on two GRVL bikes with GRX shifter. No issues after two years
