I have a spare cable disc, my cousin wants to run a disc on the front of his road tourer.
Tell me why his drop levers & my cable disc won't work
Wrong cable pull ratio = lack of power. That's the difference between the BB7 road and MTB versions anyway.
If he doesn't use STIs (bar-end or downtube shifters?), there are drop bar brake levers out there designed for V brakes which pull the right amount, DiaCompe 287V are one, there are a couple of others.
I use tektro levers designed for v brakes and they work fine with cable disc calipers.
I thought it might be a cable pull issue
