Jerrys, I like the new Cambium saddle, but for the love of God would you please sort out your spacer stack! #skyscraper

It's on my 'to do' list - honest.

I bought a hacksaw about 9 months ago and put it somewhere safe (must be in the garage somewhere). Rest assured - when I do cut the skyscraper off, I'll make sure you know 🙂

The cambium was my brother's who didn't get on with it. Not sure that I am at the moment !

😆

Followed you under the railway, and up to the roundabout where you turned down towards Ford.

Hope you're doing well! 🙂

I know where he lives. I'll sneak into his garage and take a hacksaw too it whilst he's asleep.

You're going to need a bigger saw! It's a MONSTER!

Metres? Yes. It really brings the sawing alive.

Don't exaggerate! It's only 5cms. I've kind of got used to it :).

Should I do the deed freehand, buy one of those fancy guides or just bolt on an old stem above it and use that as the guide?

We all know men aren't good at estimating length...! 😉

Time it right and I'll lop it off in the shop for you for a cake! That aside, using an old stem as a guide can be pretty good, but it doesn't have to be spirit level accurate, just flat enough. Cut it so there's room for at least a 5mm spacer above the stem, though. Always nice to have the option to raise a little, for bar changes for example.

Copper pipe cutter works well on an alloy steerer I've found; YMMV.

thanks for the offer CFH, I might take you up on that. It could be 2 cakes if you bang in the star nut that I found lurking in the bottom of the original delivery box last week 🙂 . Just about to throw the box out after 16 months and this little package fell out which I hadn't noticed was in there d'oh ! I'll re-use the hed-doctor on something else.
