Have just built up the singlespeed with a middleburn uno crank and chainring (not new). Brand new chain and new rear sprocket (on one). Chain is a KMC single speed (1/8). When I put any power through the cranks it sounds like the chain is rubbing against something. I changed the chain over (to an old narrow one I had)as I realized the chain ring was a 3 3/2 so there may have been movement as the chain was wider and it have alleviated the noise a little but its still there if you put the power down....so what next? New chainring?? I dont want to spend out on this if I can help is as the Uno is bloody expensive and the chainring was worn to buggery on my last singlespeed with no noise or problems what so ever.
I take it you have a cassette hub with spacers for a single sprocket.
I'd double check the cassette lockring is tight and also make sure the rear wheel is tight and centered in the drop outs,as it may be flexing/moving under power causing rubbing on the drop outs.
