Just wondering if anyone's got any clever suggestions for a wee grommet to surround the cable- keep the crap out and stop any rubbing etc. It'll want to go through at an angle so round ones probably not ideal, was wondering about commencal frame plugs but quite expensive... Anyone found something really nifty?

Just a wee follow up, ended up getting some of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/191040132618?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108&ff19=0

Wee bit plasticky but they'll do the job (ie, cover up a possibly ugly hole). Probably need to add orings or something to keep the mud out though.

Ah, I see you have found something I would have thought something like this would have worked quite well

I went for a bit of silicone sealant on the Enduro, might not last as long as some solutions but doesn't restrict the angle of the hose and will stop any crap from getting into the frame.

Those'd all kinda work but I really wanted an angled one since the hose isn't that flexy and you don't want it bending too narrow on the inside, or sticking out too much on the outside. The Look ones aren't quite perfect but should do the job.

Oh come on lads the April fools stop at midday - oval drill bit. Just drill 2 holes and get a needle file to tidy up the bit in the middle.

My colleagues have to put up with comments like that all year, I don't reserve them for a specific day

Drill at an angle?

I could do that but I'd have to drill up through the BB shell too I think 😀

That Orange one looks the very thing.

I did something similar to an aluminium panel years back, drilled the hole straight in then put a metal rod into the hole and pulled it down so as to flare the metal out on one side of the hole, and in on the other.
Made a lovely smooth cable run, I think i sealed it with a couple of turns of self amalgamating tape which you can squash into any shape you like.
