For me it's been a square tubed Pace. Piece of proper bike engineering 😉 I've just bought a 2002ish red one, and it's looking damn fine so far!

What bike have you always lusted after?

Nice!

Here's mine - not finished yet, but here's hoping for some drier weather.

Im currently riding a 2005 Specialised FSR XC built up with 2008 Rebas, Fox Float rp2, 2010 XT drivetrain (2x9), 1999 Mavix X517's on Hope sport hubs, 2010 Hayes Stroker Trails (180/160).

I love the frame design. Dunno what ill do when it needs replacing.

It's an old (1992 I think) Yamaha APX-4.
Unfortunately a 'friend' dropped it and cracked the side and loosened the pre-amp box inside 👿
I do have another...*ahem*...8 guitars to play with though!

But tbh, I wouldn't have any use for one now, there's not enough rose tinted glass in the world to make me choose an old bike... So these days, lets have a carbon stumpy evo.

I know what you mean - though I still view the Pace as a valid XC choice. Especially built up with discs and modern tyres.

Rocky Mountain Blizzard please, preferably with an 80mm fork, flat bar and dripping with XTR.

Probably my longest item from my first days of adult cycling was a Raleigh Record Ace. Bit weird really as I effectively did have the frame and over all the years it was made it obviously went through many gruppo and kit ensembles.

MTB - as OP said Pace RC would be nice and always wanted a Stumpjumper when they were steel and rigid or HT. Orange Prestige with one of the Suntour microdrive systems.

Probably the only one I would go for now would be the Pace.

Basically how I feel, though I've not been riding long enough to have developed rose tinted specs.

Having said that, I know exactly what I want now and can't find it for sale and cost-wise, I suspect custom is beyond me 🙂

Right now my dream bike is something like an Ibis Mojo or a 5 Spot.

Going retro, it has to be my Enduro...it's still lovely to ride even now.
