Bought a new bare frame Vitus Rapide FS which has no downtube protection. I intend to RideWrap most of it but thinking I need something thicker and rubbery for the lower end of the downtime.BB area.

Any reason not to go with the cheap and cheerful Zefal product? Anything much better? Lots of Chinese things on Amazon. Do I even need to bother? (I'm a really old bloke doing XC type stuff, very slowly!)

Mastic tape works brilliantly for this.

3m 2228 is the one to Google for.

Honestly, probably not, especially if you've wrapped it.

Even old blokes can have stones flick up 🙂
