Thought I'd sample a few savoury snacks in Keswick this afternoon, half way round my ride. I remembered the good range of beers the shop stocks while buying said snacks. 8 bottles of beer doesn't feel/look like much in the corner of your shopping basket...I think it took me quarter of an hour to work out how to carry them with the bike. I had to tie the contents of my pack to outside of it to make room! I nearly gave a couple of them away to save the hassle. Fair play to anyone who carries a lot of weight on their back when biking...the extra weight pummels you into your saddle! Not great when you still have to bike more than 20k home. 😳
Definitely not the brightest thing I've done but I feel they're well earned. 🙂

You could have carried them in your tummy and saved the weight of the glass 😉

Believe me, I had thought about drinking a couple but they weren't chilled. They would have been great for washing down the quiche and pork 'n apple pie. 🙁

The 'Chalky's Bite' is no more...tasty, the way my legs feel I might have been better knocking back a protein shake ot two though! 😕

Sierra Nevada are good for US beers - particularly like their porter - goes well with a nice pulled pork sandwich.

Two the best beers I have ever had. Fine taste there chap.

Chalky's is awesome.... I won a race at Bristol bike fest on this beer.

Sierra Nevada pale ale is also great, but no race win history. But dr Jon drinks it so it must be good for you.

Charlie - Winning a race when you've been drinking normal strength beer is an achievement, I don't know what you would call it after a few Chalky's(6.8%), a miracle maybe...or had the all other riders all been drinking but you had drunk the least??? 😛
The strange thing is that the Sierra Nevada(5.6%) tastes stronger than the Chalkys. I've been wanting to try a few of the Goose Island beers but haven't seen them for sale here in Cumbria. 🙁
