Hi,

Planning next year's holiday as its the only thing that gets me through the week.

We really fancy driving to the Dolomites in our self-built campervan.  Going to take road bikes and probably e-mtbs rather than our Enduros so looking for pretty days out rather than hitting the bike parks.  Realistically it will be May or June.

Has anyone got any tips, advice or recommendations.  What will the weather/ ground conditions be like at that time of year?  Any nice campsites. Any must do routes or views.

Thank you all, help me dream.

the route down through Germany from Bernbeuren into Austria heading to Bolzano and Paganella was awash with Trail heads disappearing into the mountains - had no idea there was so much in Germany and Austria.  I took that route on advise from some people here -think it was Alpin (?) certainlly the Paganella bit  - that is more parky, in so far that the trails are very well marked, but most of the trails seemed quite natural.

You could head further east and go via Soelden, though not sure you'd get over the cols that early on.

We were out in late June 2019 for the EWS. Based in Canazei and then across to Les Orres for the next round

We stayed on the big campsite opposite the lift station

Trails were excellent and easy to find. Plenty of other stuff to see and do.

It was hot but the river was good to cool down in

No idea, but I was watching the Mediocre Amateur doing the Alta Via 2 on foot in four days and it looked rather nice.Nothing further to add.

Thanks all.  I have to admit I'm a bit concerned that nothing will be open.  Anyone been in May?
