Recently bought a Dolan Preffisio frameset and built it up with an old Tiagra groupset and shimano rs20 wheel set.

It's been a lovely winter ride but currently a little portly for the summer. So my plan was to stick an Ultegra groupset on it that I have in the loft and buy a lighter wheelset. Maybe shimano rs80s or Mavic Krysiums.

Now my question is,am I going to get it down to a decent weight? Or should I save my pennies for a carbon frame and build myself a proper summer bike....

Proper summer bike by the time you paid for all the bits you'd be better off looking for a last years model from one of the big manufacturers........

What are you going to do next winter? Is the reduction in weight going to make a big difference to your riding?

unless your racing change the wheels and tires, itll be a fine bike.

wouldnt even bother changing the gruppo unless its worn.
