Hello
My retro fixie is feeling a bit too flexible, with worries that it'll snap/crack. So, I'm looking for a new frame.
I like the Dolan fxe for its lightweight, mud guard mounts and low price. Is there anything else I should consider?
Cheers

Was going to suggest a Kona Paddy Wagon but not sure they're available anymore.
What size are you after? I’ve got a 60cm FXE that I’ve only ridden for about four miles before deciding it was too small for me.
I'm considering either the 58 or 60cm. I'm 188cm tall, but prefer something shorter for city riding. I live in Brussels, so if price with postage is good I may consider.
I replaced my Dawes Galaxy fixed wheel bike with the Dolan. Unsurprisingly I find it really stiff and track bike like!
I would prefer something with space for bigger tyres. The Dawes was perfect but I'm concerned about the rust on it, not sure if it's worth painting.
Yep, they are definitely stiff (great for powering up climbs). They are not however light and only around 100 grams lighter than a steel frame. I have had few of them over the years and they get a fair amount of abuse as used all year round on stoney gravel, currently using one now as my only bike.
They are so cheap (£120 for frame) they are almost disposable but if you get a matt black one I find that any chips, scratches (or decals) can quickly be sprayed over very easily and it doesn't show as matches in so well (i.e. don't need to be a good sprayer with a spray gun)
Pearson do a couple of options, not cheap though
