I've been talking to dogtag via email about our travel insurance policy. I renewed in March for our family & our second daughter was born in May. I simply wanted to add her to the policy. This they claim is impossible & we'll have to cancel the entire policy & start again. I can sort of believe this - dealing with families isn't exactly what they were set up to do. So I've asked them how to proceed. In fact I've been asking them via email how to proceed, repeatedly since 30th July and not had a single response.

Has anyone else had similar issues with them? Up until now I've generally found them pretty good to deal with. Any other addresses to try in place of the generic enquiries one?

As I remember it, you can cancel your policy on their website (once you log in)

cancel the entire policy & start again

Do that? What else do you need to know?

Have you tried ringing them? That was the easiest way to expedite things when we made a claim and they were slow to respond to email.

I had a bit of a ‘free exchange of ideas’ with them but that was almost a decade ago so it wouldn’t be fair to drag that up now, but I’ve used them since.

Id guess your enquiry has reached a dead-end, as in its be assigned to someone who doesn’t know how to deal with it and is ignoring it hoping it’ll go away.

In your position, unless you’re planning to travel a lot with a new born I’d be tempted to buy a one-off policy for her if/when you travel, I take it she won’t need extreme sports cover on holiday 😉

Give it it a whirl, you might get a full refund, on everything...

All fixed!

To be completely fair to them, they gave me a full refund and a 20% discount on setting up the new policy.

Faith restored!

I think that the issue was due to the email address that their support system uses - you send the initial enquiry to "enquiries@dogtag.com" they then reply from that address, but occasionally it will come from: "dogtagenquiries@tfigroup.co.uk", which appears to be an unmonitored address (or monitored by fewer delegates).
