Most hipster request ever! I know.

Does anyone carry a dog on their bike?

If so how?

Mine is small/medium 10kg or so.

My sister has a bike rack with a box on it on the front of her bike for their dog, think it's a bit lighter than that though - 10kg dog+rack+box on the front forks at height would play about with your steering a bit.

We have a trailer for our small (7kg) and med (17kg) dogs. It's a burley tail wagon. It is basically a smaller one than you might have for a couple of toddlers. The dog's can't stand it and howl continually so it does not get much use. It works well for a trailer. Not compatible with bolt through axels.

We tried the small one in a bar mounted basket type thing but she just kept trying to get out and kill/eat things and/or herself. Plus she only just fit.

The buddyrider seems like the only possible solution to this problem...

Saw some guys with a buddy riser in Les Gets last year. They said that they would ride the green trails with the dog.

Cool.

The buddy rider looks great but it's very pricey. My wife doesnt want a trailer because people will think there's a child in it and she will be embarrassed 😂.

I've looked at the buddy rider, bit pricey but it looks like the best solution I've seen.

I'm more tempted to get one after reading this thread. It clamps onto the seat post and top tube I belive.

Looking at this pic it's only clamped to the seat tube

http://static1.squarespace.com/static/52352691e4b05de551a24399/523e6461e4b09034aa6670c8/5533ebbce4b0c604b976f0cd/1475079559649/?format=1000w

So its just a strap on the top tube to keep it stable?

I have an XL 22" hard tail and an 8kg dog so shouldn't be too cumbersome.. Hopefully, just might have to ditch the saddle bag as it looks like it takes up a bit of real estate on the seat post..

I bit the bullet and ordered one today... Can't wait to try it!

Does anyone who's used one find it interferes with your pedal stroke?

Cheers

Tempted with a layback post for a bit more room. I'd not go out all day on it done 8 to 10 miles though

My boss carries a Cairn Terrier in a handlebar dog carrier but at 10kg your dog would be too heavy for the fittings.

This on a rear rack should do the job.
