or is there a new version with the same code (the shimano page has a 'new' flag and it's not a new tool - it's been around for years)? Nothing on the Shimano page says it does, and I thought I'd had mine for longer than 12s had been around.
it looks to me when I use it as if the bit that drops in when a chain is worn is resting on the 'shoulders' of the links and not the roller (which is where I thought it was meant to fall.
