Evening all,
Following a recent head/low hanging branch issue, my bright green large Bell Stoker needed retiring.
I've replaced it with a medium Giro Feature. My head is 59cm so right on the boarderline between medium and large, but heard the medium was sized big.
Long story short, the medium Feature seems to fit ok, my head fills the shell (where it didn't on the Stoker) which seems like a better position to be in rather than it being a pea in a bean tin.
However, I am concerned that it might be too small as it seems to sit a bit high on my head, and the gap between helmet and ear seems quite large (not sure if this is just the design of the Feature). I can still exchange for a large, but is this a good idea or will it be massive.
Any thoughts on whether the Feature looks like it is sitting low enough?

if the top of your head goes to the "top" of the helmet, you can get it snugly fitted round the circumference and it's not right at the outer limits of adjustment, I'd say it fits fine
(yr old one looks a bit big from here)
As for whether it's sufficiently #enduro, ....
Yeah, head does go right to the top and not quite at the limits of the adjuster. Just seemed a bit 'high' on the ear area
New colour is a bit dull..... 😮
The Large fits you, the medium doesn't .
Are we allowed to critique the curtains ? 🙂
Lol, I was worried I'd get the opinion confirmed that I need a large (as that's what I had in the back of my head). Ah well, have to look into an exchange.
Curtains are nothing to do with me. They are already the 3rd pair we've had!
I would say you have a Bell head not a giro one. The giro may fit fine but looks a bit on top like a mushroom. Try another bell or something other than giro. The endura humvee looks like food value.
nice pics Dave!
they both look fine to me
Can always count on STW for a sensible answer 🙂
Ta all
OP your medium Feature is like the one I had. The straps were right under my ears and although my head fitted in the helmet it made my head ache after a while
The Large is better but like a lot of lids where you're at the lower end of the size range there's a lot of plastic and polystyrene because it'll fit someone with a bigger head
Have had more success with lids with different size ranges e.g Met and Mavic
