You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A story in this afternoon's Cycling UK newsletter got me to finally register our family's bikes on Bike Register. Frame numbers on the aluminium bikes were easy to find under the bottom bracket, but my carbon frame simply has a bar code sticker and number, which I would rip off if I were a thief.
There's nothing obvious on the main triangle, or the aluminium rear triangle. Anyone know if carbon frames are numbered in a way similar to the stamp on a metal frame?
As ever, thanks in advance
Is there anything on the steerer tube?
Nothing on the steerer, no.
The box it shipped in has 3 tear off frame numbers.
The older generation frames has their serial number lacquered under the frames finish.
Current frames have the removable sticker and a 4-square.
I believe that they also have the serial/barcode inside the BB shell.
Ah, thanks. Mine was ex demo, so no original box.
What is a 4-square?
