Instead of star nut
I used one for a bit - I used the bit at the bottom to mount a bracket for a front mudguard on some rigid forks.
Work well but those 12" bolts weigh a ton.
I've never bullied someone with a star nut. How well does it work?
I use a headlock on my Mrs..
i used to have one...they are really easy to use so long as you dont mind the extra weight of the bolt
the original versions dont fit on modern forks do to the internal diameter of the steerer tube at the crown being smaller but there is supposed to be a newer version that does fit modern fork crowns but no-one seems to sell them in the UK
yes, my Dh-alike bike has 1.5" forks - and i can't find a internal expander that'll fit.
(star-nuts are horrible things)
I use one to stop an old set of slx cranks from dropping off! Saves buying a new set of cranks for an old hack built up of old bits.
