If so, can you measure from the axle to the bridge, so I can see if I can get a + size tyre in.

Approx 36.5 cm from centre of axle to base of bridge.

Thanks guys, 36.5 should just about do it. It's 36 on pikes, and only fraction of clearance.
I didn't want to go down the + size forks, as the axle to crown is longer, and would need more new wheels, with 'boost' size hubs.
