My wife really wants me to wear jeans/trousers but i hate the things. I have one pair of jeans which haven't seen outside the wardrobe for 5 years and one pair of trousers which i last wore to a funeral 2 years ago. I wear shorts all year round in snow, rain, sun, at work etc.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else do this?

My postman, I have never seen him in trousers.
I do think this is common practice amongst posties.

Personally I wear Jeans of varying degrees of smartness.

Shorts are for Loafing and Work, or the pub in summer.

Depends on age to a certain extent, anyone over about 20 wearing shorts to "go out" in winter
Looks to me like they are trying too hard to be different ?

Shorts when on the bike, all year round; I don't get cold legs, I hate flappy trousers on the bike and feel silly in tights. Off the bike though, it's definitely not shorts weather at the moment!

I wear them for work all year round (outdoors) because they are comfortable, my skin drys a lot
Faster than trousers would, I don't feel cold when wearing them (compared to wet trousers)

And in summer I wear shorts everywhere because they are comfortable.

Shorts almost all year round here. I'll happily 'dress up' when needed and of course where jeans etc when it's more appropriate, but given the choice I'd remain in shorts. Somehow I don't feel the cold as much as most people plus 'too much' clothing makes me feel uncomfortable.

I've no problem layering up for outdoor activities - that's different, especially if the weather is proper sh1t. But for daily stuff, stick me in shorts and I'm happy.
