[Closed] Do you know how to ride a bike or sit on suspension and let it do the riding?

I'm beginning to wonder how many of you whipper snappers let your fancy suspension and big wheels do the talking?

Yeah, you're faaaaaassssssst, but I guess I would be too on seven inches of terrain disguising travel and big sticky tyres.

I'd be more impressed if you could 'throw down some sick moves' full rigid as you session the trail centers...

😉

Started off riding rigid - no choice.

Now I ride both - stupid not to IMO.

OP how old are you? I won't ask how fast you are 🙄

I have my rigid bike set up in a sit up and beg style with low saddle and high bars and I like to negotiate the trails seated..

Standing up is far from gentlemanly and really takes the skill element out of trail riding IMO
ideally trail riding should be undertaken wearing a good hand stitched leather soled brogue..

It depends. The Tracer275 is a very efficient seated climbing bike but can just about cope with sprinting. As Lopes says, the saddle is not a seat, it's a platform for powerful pedalling. Stand when freewheeling, always! Else you are trapped by the saddle and you will crash!

You started this thread as well, and from that thread you said

One razz around on Giant's finest demonstrated that this over-grown jey-boy bike was more capable, faster and more fun handling than my 130mm travel 26er full-sus. It rode like a road bike on flat stuff and descended like a motocross bike on the ruff...hmmmnnnn...

I believe you live under bridges in Sweden, yep I'm calling you a Troll.

I've had rigid and then suspension that barely worked and now due to progress my bike is really good. No reason for me to chose to ride any other way, least of all due to some nobjockey keyboard king.

Whether or not I'm skilful is an irrelevance, I enjoy riding my bike and suggest you do the same it may help you stop typing such twaddle.

Quality of trolling these days is just rubbish.

Still, this one seems to be better than his last attempt.

I'd say fewer people know how to ride an FS than a HT. Even fewer know how to set them up. Especially in the Surrey Hills.

My skills are compensated for by having a soft front and a tumescent tail.

Phew. At least you tempered the absolute awesomeness of the FS bike with buying one that looks awful 😉

Trolling aside

...a mother trail bike...

Is that what the "AM" prefix really stood for when it was still an on-trend term? If so I like it, and want to see it come back...

This Bike is [B]A Mother![\B] Riding it iz all about Da Skillz innit Bruv!
