Peter White has been doing that job for eons and seems to have been the landowner's friend during that time. It may be that he is merely carrying out the policies of elected members but it feels like the RoW dept has been a law unto itself for years so something needs doing to make them accountable.
And now is the time to let them know although I imagine we also need to not let it get too personal.
I've had first hand experience of being under threat of job loss in local authority and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. However, this could be the break the peak district needs from their close minded tyranny.
