I am about to buy a fork with a 15mmx100m bolt through axle but would still have 135mm skewers on the rear of the bike. Would you need bolt through specific wheels to accomodate this? Is there a way of telling if the bolt through axle will fit?
Thanks.
Some wheels have replaceable end caps to allow you to switch between QR & TA. Which hubs have your wheels got?
You need hubs that can be converted to bolt through. For most modern designs this is just an end cap swap. What hubs/wheels do you have?
Yes. Most newer hubs have interchangeable end caps though, what hubs do you have?
Lol, beaten to it a couple of times...
@nixie @simondbarnes I am yet to buy the wheels, just trying to not get caught out as it would be quite an inconvinence.
Front hubs are not ally just an end cap swap, rear hubs can be tricker as some involve a more complex axle swap and some any be swapped.

That's interesting. I bought some wheels recently, and in hindsight should have went bolt-through and converted to QR, but I didn't.
How do you tell if you have end caps, how do they fit?
Shimano XT DH UR700 Dynamo. They do a through axle version of this too, so a potential candidate?
Rear I suspect may be a rebranded Novatec, I'm not entirely sure.
check out hope hubs/wheels
