I could do with a bit of advice 🙂
I've got a pair of wall lights that are switched by a 7 day timer switch. So far so good.
I've just replaced the lamps with some LED lamps. Unfortunately, the current for the timer is enough to light the LEDs.
I can easily get a neutral into the backbox, but I'm having difficulties finding a timer switch that will allow me to use the LED lamps. All I can find are ones that don't require a neutral (which of course will give me the same problem!).
Any suggestions gratefully received!!
Neil.
If you've got plenty of room in the back box and know how (sounds like you do), use the timer to switch a relay and the relay contacts to switch the lights. 8)
(I'm not a spark).
Actually, thinking further you'd be best putting the relay at the rose (or equivalent) as you'll be able to swap the feed that goes to the lamps at the mo onto to the relay coil, and you'll have the the ring supply there to feed over the contacts to the lamp. No issues with backbox space and no need to run any more cables then! 🙄
