Hi all,
I have SRAM X9 cranks that I would like to use on my singlespeed but the only direct mount chainrings I can find are all narrow-wide and super noisy/ poorly meshing with a chunky single speed chain. I've not have problems with the non-NW chainrings I always used in the past (Renthal are my go-to).
So... is there any such thing as a round, direct mount, non-NW chainring in direct mount SRAM flavour?
I guess the other option is to fit a triple spider to the X9 cranks but I sold mine to someone on here for peanuts and they are pricey to buy new 🙁
Any ideas for a trivial, stupid question? 🙂
Ta, DanW
There's a SRAM 1x spider, or at least was. I had to get one when it was pre-NW, 1x chainrings were cheaper than direct mount and my existing 2x spider didn't have sensible 104 bcd to convert to 1x. Still using it, so can't have mine 😀
There may be third party options. Some third party 1x spiders I can see.
I had a 104 triple spider but stupidly sold it
@deadkenny can you point me in the right direction of a 104bcd single ring sram spider?
Ta!
They seem tricky to get now, but this is the one I got

NSB do a version also, not sure about UK availability. Seen some other makes about.

That is perfect, thank you! I was struggling to find any type of GXP 104 spider (nsb were bb30)
Ta!
I've got a NSB for GXP crank I don't need if that's of any use before you order? Might even have a ring on it too if you're really lucky!
Ooooh yes please Blazin!
Can you email me at watlingdaniel [at ] gmail [dot] com please and we can sort something out
I’ll dig it out and mail you some pics.
Just to check, there are two versions... one for the carbon cranks and one for the alu cranks. I have X9's which I think are slightly rounder and less angular at the axle end of the cranks arm (flicking between the two types here https://northshorebillet.com/products/1-x10-104-bcd-spider-for-sram-x0-x9-cranks?variant=11509615745)
er, dunno about that. Mine was on an X0.
