Hi I've bought this FSA Orbit integrated headset. The bottom is 1.5 bearing. The pictures show it sitting on the Crown race. Is the space between the race and the bearing normal? It seems quite a gap to me.
cheers

No plastic shield with it. But the bearing sits within the frame quite deep. Its a road frame btw

Does the crown race sit just inside the head tube acting as a shield? The bearing and crown race O/D's look like that may be the case.

Yes the head tube sits snug against the fork. I assume the gap is there to allow the bearing to spin freely on the angled section of the crown race.
