I've just built up a planet x full monty sl frame. I have a tiagra BB and some older 105 hollow tech cranks. Do I need to aquire some spacers for the BB or not?

The reason I ask is i've put it all together (including greasing) and it looks ok but the BB seems to be creaking like anything!

Cheers

Do the cranks rock from side to side at all? If so then you need one or more spacers. It does depend on the width of the BB shell on the frame and the width of the crank spindle. After that you might need to swap a spacer from one side to the other to get the chainline optimised.

No, it seems like a good fit and there isn't any rocking. the BB is a 68 BSA.
I did notice that the left side crank didn't fit onto the right side spindle as much as I thought but still fine I think

Road cranks with road BB shouldn't need any spacers (assuming the frame is actually 68mm)

Ok cheers. How do I check if the BB is knackered then? could I have over tightened something? It was pretty much brand new
