I have a bit of a heavy steel bike habit.
Scramblers on preorder again; with an ECR, Longitude, Pugsley and a Fargo already… do I need one?
Yes, no, maybe 😆
I love a bit of steel too...
Stooge Mk4
Surly Krampus
Ragley Blue Pig
Dialled Love Hate
Genesis Vagabond
Transition Klunker
(And that's just the built up ones, thrtes a few more steel frame hanging up!)
Yes
Yes. I got one of the last batch and it’s the most fun on a bike I’ve ever had. Feels like a solid, sturdy tank when laden for bikepacking and like a poppy, giant bmx when it’s in trail mode. I will never part with it. Do it.
Pictures would be nice
It's a disease...
Just been looking myself, yet i have
Stooge Speedbomb
Stooge Mk1 converted into cargo bike
Singular Gryphon
SIngular Peregrine
Bombtrack Needle
And they are all singlespeeds, so i am clearly not right...
The question shouldn’t be ‘do you need one?’ But ‘do you want one?’ No one needs more than one bike as they’re a plaything. But they do look cool and if you’re going to actually use it then get one. I think a lot of people follow the N+1 rule and end up with lots of bikes that overlap and never get used.
The Scrambler looks ace fun, but it’s be a waste if you’ll never use it.

I say go for it.
I really want to build up a new rigid single speed as I find my inbred too short (always have done) and if I could afford to stooge would be number 1 choice. So based on living vicariously through others, if you can afford it, do it.
