do i need to let the air out of my forks befor i remove the cap at the top of the leg to drain a little oil out
Yes, or you could die.....seriously, it wouldn't do any harm to 😀
but i dont have a pump as its a special valve. will it all just fly aprt if i dont ? or will the air come out anyway wen i take the cap off? would be better for me if the air could stay in as it would save me a visit the the lbs. ( he charges me a five just to borrow his pump in his own shop for ten mins or so)
What sort of fork is it?
its a marzochi all mountain sl2 2007. just got it and the guy i got it off said he has just topped the oil put. but the forks only getting half travel and then stops dead been told its most likely too much oil. cant find a manual for this fork i have the only for the year befor but the year b4 is diffrent in many ways but does not mention anything about taking air out
You need a shock pump and one of these adapters http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=19020
and the owners manual is downloable from this page
