Have Shimano SPD shoes. Wondering if I can use football studs with them when things get sloppy?

Yes sports direct sell packs which include different length studs, much cheapness.

Get metal ones, as in my experience the plastic ones wear down very quick if you use them on anything rocky.
Long studs are essential for the muddy winter cross races.
