Does anyone think there is a correlation between the cheapness of a tyre and whether it will succumb to cuts easier?
In the last year I have found cuts all the way through the carcass on the following tyres:
Conti X-King (cheap version)
Schwalbe Fat Albert (snakeskin)
Bonty XR4 (old version).
Now these are cuts through/between the knobbles rather than the sidewalls.
I have killed a WTB weirwolf too with the sidewall going.

Nope. Often cheaper tyres are bombproof but heavy or made of a compound that neither wears nor grips.
