I cracked out my lovely gore roubaix tights for yesterdays road ride, I was out for ~2hrs and by the end of it my orbs of masculinity were feeling quite tender and bruised (and are subsequently quite uncomfy). I remember the last ride I did in these bibs (in March) I had similar issues. I've not had similar problems in any other tights/shorts, so what happened? I used to love these tights, they were so comfy. Not sure if it's because I've started road riding and the tights don't suit the more bent over position? or if it's because they're almost 10 years old and they no longer support me the way they used to? Or perhaps with my advancing years I need more support (I'm 30 now!)?
Saddle?
the saddle has been fine when I'm wearing other shorts, 3/4 tights
At 10 years old the padding is likely long gone.
at age of garment
padding perhaps gone. certainly can go baggy.
got a set of 2 year old endura thermolites that have gone baggy this season.
could also be that they are not the correct shape of chamois for the loading due to the road position assuming you used to MTB in them >?
I had a pair of Altura bib longs when I used to commute, they didn't hold everything in place as well as normal summer lycra ones. Try a light weight pair of under crackers to hold everything in place
haha TR, obviously a poor reflection on the amount of riding I get in! Previously most rides in them have been offroad (although I think they're road tights). Might try something under them, failing that I should be less tight (or more tight depending on how you look at it) and buy some more!
