Do any pads compare well to Trickstuff Power?

I bought some Cura brakes by mistake (should have been the Cura 4 but I wasn’t paying attention and added the wrong ones to my basket. Yes, I know) and instead of sending them back I thought I would give them a try with some good pads… enter the Trickstuff Power pads and the brakes are absolutely perfect, bike parks, mudfests, mega steep needing brilliant modulation, they are spot on. Anyway, the downside is that the trickstuff pads are wearing at a rate of knots and because we aren’t in the EU anymore, they are more than a little bit spendy now. Has anyone tried the Trickstuff Power and found other pads to be as good or close? 🙂

They’re available in the UK now.

Hope Greens are as good IME, but wear equally quick.

I have Cura 4's and currently have Trickstuff Power pads in the front, they were amazing at first but are wearing quickly and losing a bit of bite. Got  ine from a German eBay seller.

Gorilla Enduro are close when new & cheaper. Galfer Green too.

I rate Galfer green, as others have stated the Trickstuff wear unreasonably fast

Slight hijack but same question about Intend White pads, what's the nearest equivalent? Can't find any real info on their website so don't even know if I'm looking for organic or sintered.

Back up plan is to use Galfer based in experience with Hope brakes.

There's probably a good chance they're made by Galfer anyway.

I tried Gorilla Enduro in my Code R’s and while I thought they were ok, I swapped back to standard pads so I wouldn’t be keen to try them again, same with stuff like Race Matrix…

I’ve never tried Galfer Green though.

If the Trickstuff were the EU price or they just lasted a teeny bit longer, I wouldn’t be thinking about anything else, but if wishes were fishes 🙂

Right, in the interests of curiosity, I’ve ordered some Galfer green (G1554T Pro) and black (G1053) pads that I will test against the Trickstuff, I’ll update after some bike park days 🙂

Enduro magazine's latest disc brake group test from a few months ago tested all the usual suspects with the original pads and a set of Sinter's green pads and got better deceleration using Sinter green in all the brakes even trickstuffs power. That's Sinter the brand not to be confused with sintered. I managed to pick some up for a tenner from bikeparts black Friday sales for my E4's, very good and quiet, not sure I'd pay the asking price though, I've also been pleased with gorilla's pads.

Sinter is such a terrible name for a brake pad brand, try searching for them

Not quite as bad as "Braking", the Italian brake pad brand.

I was looking at various Galfer options last night. The Pro pads get a good rap for outright performance, but apparently wear fast. The Galfer Purple - designed for e-bikes - are apparently good too and more durable and just as happy on non e-bikes. I run some on a Levo and they've been good for me so far, albeit mostly in the dry. Will probably stick some in my conventional bike's Zee calipers when the current Galfer Blacks wear out.

Haven't used Trickstuff at all, so no idea how they compare.

Galfer green are excellent. It all depends on the riding you're doing and where, to decide if the lifespan is worth the cost.

Blacks are fine. No more, no less. More noticeable drop off in power in the wet though than other pads.

Purples predictably sit somewhere in between. Lifespan of a normal pad, more powerful, but definitely not Green powerful. I was convinced these would be the sweet spot for UK trail riding, but I kept having problems with them squealing in setups where no other pads did and now I've tried the greens, I'm not sure I could go back anyway.

Galfer Green really are excellent but take heed of this warning - they really do not last in UK winter.

I happily run them through Summer but pushed it too far and took a set from half-worn to bare metal in half a lap of Dalby when I kept them on too late in the season.

Got the reds in now (Hope E4s) but once we hit Spring I'll be putting greens back in.

Anyone know how the Sinter green last? Might get some pads delivered to my brother in law in Germany. I have Galfer purple in my Hope V4 and the moment, they are good but squeak a bit. Then again, so did the reds so might be the rotors (floating TRP)

+1 for anybody with a Galfer green vs. Sinter green comparison

@davosaurusrex - I found purple prone squeal and red very quiet. Although the purples were on Galfer wave rotors and the reds on SRAM HS2 rotors, which I find quieter than most.

I liked the feel and power of the Trickstuff Power but got through a pair on the front in two days on a Spanish riding trip so I've not tried them again.

Galfer Green  seem pretty good and don't last too badly in the dry, but if there's standing water around can feel pretty inconsistent and make the lever feel weird.

Galfer Purple are the only pads i've used that have properly overheated ad been unable to stop with.

That was on a very hot day on an alpine walking trail though so quite tough conditions for brakes.

The Purple also wore my rotors out at an alarming rate.

Galfer Reds seem to be pretty good allrounders but get a little squealy when you get them really hot.

So for me it's Greens in the less rainy months and reds in the more rainy months.

All Galfer pads tried in T4V4's and Trickstuff in Cura 4's.

Thanks, I may get some Galfer reds for winter duty too then!

I've not put enough hours into the green Sinter pads to comment on durability and not ridden in that much winter slop either, they are resin race pads so I'm not expecting long life out of them, I might save them for summer although I've not noticed any rapid wear.
They were in the 2023 Megasack giveaway so theres two members who've had a year to give some feedback. Surely someone at STW tested them, Ben Deakin is sponsored by them I think.
