Does anyone have a long term review of using metal bushes in Vaults?

I love them but have just changed the bushes and already they're starting to show a tiny bit of play.

Also a link to where to get them from would be ace?

Dmr provide a tool and bearing kits...but consider if the axle is worn it will also need replacing ..my v twin suffered this but no play but CREAKING!!!..badly ..it took all new bearings, brushing and axles...fixed them but I took 6 months to be completely unbearable l(pardoning the pun...hehe..) before that point..

Go to dmr directly but only provide them in kits ..buy axles too ..so if they are worn you can replace them before they damage the new brushing/bearing combo..

Cheers, thought I'd read something somewhere about using metal bushes.

I've just asked for a sample of 2 plastic, but hard wearing ones, from Igus. Let's see if they send them 🙂

I used them in mine for around 8 months after going through 3 sets of plastic ones.

After that one of the bearings exploded, leaving the outer race embedded in the body.

If I was buying Vaults again I'd put metal bushes in from the start.

Thanks @kiksy. I'm going to try these Igus ones and then metal ones after if they don't last.

I have metal bushes in mine and they have been play free for about a year and a half. I regrease them every 3 moths or so and only cost £3 on ebay. A much better deal than buying a rebuild kit from dmr
